MD-ISCHIAL is a medical device based on porcine collagen type I to reduce sciatic pain and improve mobility of the lower limb.
USE MEDICAL STRICT. Medical device. Use reserved for dermatologists and aesthetic doctors because they require a medical procedure.
MD-ISCHIAL is an injectable class III medical device:
- Treatment can be combined with other therapies.
- Improves movement of the lumbosacral spine and lower limbs.
- Reduces sciatic pain (especially in cases of herniated discs in the L4-L5, L5-S1 vertebrae).
- It can be combined with other treatments.
- GUNA S.P.A.
- NAME: MD-ISCHIAL
- COMPOSITION: Collagen of porcine origin, Rhododendron chrysanthum, Sodium chloride, Water for injection.
- PRESENTATION: 10 x 2ml.
- INDICATIONS: Reduces sciatic pain and improves mobility of the lower limb.
- INJECTION DEPTH:
Peri-articular: 26G x 13 mm needle.
Note: Carefully disinfect the skin with iodopovidone or
chlorhexidine.
Peri-articular route: introduce the needle near the sacro-iliac joint at a depth of 4-6 mm.
Intra-muscularly: introduce the needle at varying depths at the following points along the course of the sciatic nerve:
- gluteus medius
- subgluteus
- popliteal cord
- between the twin muscles of the triceps muscle of the sura
- under the outer malleolus.
- PROTOCOL: 1 treatment per week: subcutaneous injection into the trigger points and/or peri-articular area of one (2 ml) or two vials (4 ml) per treatment. Results already evident from week 3, but depending on the patient's clinical situation, treatment can be continued up to week 10 without risk.
- USE: Strict medical use.
- Vials: 10 x 2ml.
Sciatic and lower limb pain.
Collagen of porcine origin, Rhododendron chrysanthum, Sodium chloride, Water for injection.
- The product should only be injected by trained operators, in a suitable environment, using aseptic technique.
- Injection test in patients with suspected hypersensitivity: if there is a history of allergic reactions, a preliminary intradermal/injective test and observation of the patient for at least 1 hour is recommended.
- Avoid immediate exercise/prolonged mobilisation of the treated area unless indicated.
- Do not extend treatment beyond 10 weeks unless clinically assessed; follow protocols indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not use after the expiry date; use immediately after opening; do not use if the bottle is damaged.
MD-ISCHIAL is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Known hypersensitivity to components (e.g. collagen of porcine origin or other excipients).
- Septic processes or active local/articular infections: do not inject into infected areas or in the presence of an ongoing joint infection.
Counteracts physiological or pathological deterioration of joints and tissues involved in:
- Sciatica
- Reduced mobility of lower limbs
- Muscle rigidity of the lower limb
- Pain in the lower limbs:
- of muscular and/or nervous origin
- from prolonged lactation
- from ageing phenomena
- from postural defects
- by concomitant chronic diseases
- from trauma and injuries.
Combination with MD-LUMBAR is recommended in cases of pain in the lumbosacral segment of the spine.
MD-ISCHIAL is a porcine collagen-based injectable medical device designed to reduce sciatic pain and improve mobility of the lower limb. It is particularly useful in cases of sciatica, muscle stiffness and pain resulting from herniated discs or other joint disorders.
MD-ISCHIAL is administered via peri-articular or intramuscular injections. Peri-articular injections must be administered near the sacro-iliac joint, while intramuscular injections are administered along the path of the sciatic nerve, at points such as the gluteus medius and the popliteal cord. The injection depth varies depending on the technique used.
Treatment involves one injection per week, with a dose of 2 ml (one vial) or 4 ml (two vials) per treatment. Results are evident from week 3, but treatment can be continued until week 10, depending on the patient's clinical assessment.
MD-ISCHIAL is indicated to treat sciatica, reduced mobility of the lower limbs, muscle stiffness and pain in the lower limbs caused by muscular or nervous factors, chronic diseases, trauma, injury or ageing. It is particularly useful for treating sciatic pain associated with herniated discs at the L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels.
MD-ISCHIAL is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to its components (such as porcine collagen), active local or joint infections. It is essential to perform an intradermal test if an allergic reaction is suspected and to carefully follow the directions for use.
